A Very Scary Christmas

If you’ve read my About Me page you know that I love Halloween, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy other holidays. Over the past few years I have really appreciated that there have been more Christmas themed horror movies. I was so excited when the Krampus movie came out a couple years ago. I even got my husband to take me to see it on opening weekend and it is now a movie that I will continue watch several times each holiday season.

Last year I had the opportunity to be a scare actor at Fright Dome and the house I was in was called Hellidays and it went trough the entire year and added a scary twist to each holiday and at the very end of the house was a huge animatronic Krampus that was holding a screaming child by the ankle. The holiday that I haunted was Valentine’s Day and I was Bloody Valentine. I had so much fun doing Fright Dome and got to meet some amazing people. I was a little surprised when the news came out that Fright Dome wouldn’t be happening this year since it would have been the 16th year that it would be running and had become a tradition for many people.

Last night my bestie, Rufio (who I met at Fright Dome) went to see an interactive Christmas play called Krampus by Troy Heard. I have seen quite a few shows at Majestic Repertory Theatre http://www.majesticrepertory.com/ but this one, by far, was the most unusual. It takes place at, the characters Jerry & Marge’s home. Everyone is there for a Christmas party and you play games, sing carols and eat and drink wine and spiked eggnog (provided by Ellis Island https://www.ellisislandcasino.com/) as more characters show up and the story progresses. Everyone that is there for the show gets a different prospective because you will be taken by characters to do different things during the party like wrap gifts, decorate cookies, help put the star on the tree and you will get little bits of information from each of the characters. Rufio and I talked about all of the information that each of us were given after the show and I would love to go and see it again to get a different perspective and ask the characters different questions. If you have the opportunity to see it I HIGHLY recommend it! I wish I had gotten to take a better look at Krampus, but that is kind of the point that you only get a glimpse of him and it leaves you wanting more!
